PowerGADS is a multi-tier, J2EE-based web application that incorporates the web browser as the application client, requiring no client-side installation. This architecture ensures portability across diverse environments, provides an open interface, and leverages and extends existing assets.

Generator and Reliability Performance System

Fact:  PowerGADS provides NERC reporting for over 50% of all the units in the United States.

PowerGADS gives energy service providers a fast, convenient way to gather statistical generation data from a variety of sources, whether contained in a centralized location or distributed among several. Upon collection, all data is validated using NERC Level 1 and Level 2 diagnostics. Once validated, the data is used for several purposes, including internal reporting; for example, the Station Performance and Generating Outage Rate Program. PowerGADS then submits this gathered data to an ISO/RTO or the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) using standard "card" formats.  The product also incorporates capacity verification testing and commercial availability.

  Benefits 2
14 Proven, secure, enterprise-level system that can handle up to several hundred users.
13 Centralized, web-based system allows users distributed over wide geographic locations to utilize one system for all their requirements, from data collection to analysis, and reporting. Role-based security allows for simple administration.
12 Exceptional reporting. PowerGADS base reports and customized report packages (included with the system) allow users to utilize their data to the fullest and provides for the most complicated reporting. An open database structure allows clients to use external reporting tools such as Business Objects or even Microsoft Excel or Access to manipulate data.
11 Our architecture allows companies to add users as required. Many clients have over 200 users. Our functional modules allow integration of GADS-related functionality such as Economic Outage Analysis and Real-Time Outage Management into one system.
10 Ease of customization. We recognize that each client’s processes, data flows, and systems are unique. PowerGADS is a flexible, customizable system that will ensure that the system fits your current processes and not the other way around. Corporations do not often realize or compute the switching costs from changing processes to meet the requirements of inflexible software.
10 Multiple ISO Support:  PowerGADS supports reporting requirements for every ISO as well as NERC.
10 System installation includes full data migration from your current system.
10 EFORp:  PowerGADS is the only system on the market capable of calculating Peak Equivalent Forced Outage Rate. This new measurement is used by PJM to calculate generator unforced capacity while phasing out the dependency on EFORd.
10 Optional Modules for Outage Analysis as well as DART integration: The Outage Analyzer module assesses the economic impacts (including marginal lost opportunity costs analysis) of generator outages using LMP and bid-offers data.  What-If analysis capability enables scenario planning and outage cost forecasting.  The PowerDART module provides real-time generator outage management by linking internal dispatch data and market update data with the ISO’s real-time systems. The events recorded by PowerDART flow automatically into PowerGADS. This eliminates the need to have events entered redundantly into multiple systems and hence reduces errors and inefficiency.
10 Market Leader: Some of the largest energy companies and ISOs/RTOs use PowerGADS, including PJM, MISO, AEP, Dominion, Reliant, NRG, Constellation, and PSEG. PowerGADS provides collection for over 50% of the all the data in the United States.
