We provide web-enabled enterprise solutions for energy bidding, dispatch, scheduling and settlement as well as NERC reporting for all market participants.
SYSTEM
PowerAPPRAISER is a multi-tier, J2EE-based web application that incorporates the web browser as the application client, requiring no client-side installation. This architecture ensures portability across diverse environments, provides an open interface, and leverages and extends existing assets.
Transfer Pricing System
Utility companies nationwide have undergone profound transformations to achieve higher competitiveness to confront deregulation. A split between the traditional fossil/nuclear generation group and the newly organized energy-trading group is a common pattern in many utilities. PowerAPPRAISER gathers operation and trading data to produce detailed income statements that determine the margin of energy, capacity, and ancillary services, which facilitate the internal price transfer between the two groups.
Benefits
Rapid access to the most up-to-date operating costs and transfer pricing data
Benchmarks for goal-setting and incentive measures
Centralization of pricing data for analysis and reports
Essentials
Determination of True Values associated with Energy Production, Capacity, and Ancillary Services
Cost, revenue, efficiency
Future and Historical data for "what-if" analysis
Data Extraction and Transformation
COST/REVENUE GENERATION
PowerAPPRAISER determines true values for costs/revenues of production (margin) and measures (expected). Cost elements consist of start-up, no-load, maintain minimum, incremental, synchronous condenser, area regulation, operating reserves (make-whole payments) and fuel costs, as well as locational marginal price (LMP).
REPORT GENERATION
PowerAPPRAISER generates reports for total unit cost, total station cost, total station grouping cost, unit efficiency measure, station efficiency measure and station group efficiency measure by hour, day, month and year. These reports can also be downloaded in CSV format for further analysis.
WHAT-IF ANALYSIS
PowerAPPRAISER allows modification of historical and future run status, opportunity cost identifier, expected EFORD, expected MW, and condenser information for "what-if" analysis. This analysis helps determine the parameters for actual MW and EFORD for the units.
DATA EXTRACTION AND TRANSFORMATION
PowerAPPRAISER extracts and transforms functional data from disparate sources into a centralized database. The Gateway module of the system extracts the data and transforms it using the rules defined in the Rules Engine. The module also logs data anomalies during the extraction and transformation process.
